Many of you may be wondering about the title of the blog today? Well your not alone as it was the text I got from my brother today "The Jedi freestyle dance troupe are entered for the Bigdog!" What does it mean? Well Jim (my brother), Guy (good friend) and myself are now entered into the Brighton Bigdog race this year as a three man team and that is our team name, I daresay we will carry it over to the Dusk til Dawn race too this October.
I must confess the recent change in the weather has been a good one and had me defying doctors orders and heading up into Cann woods here in Plymouth for some trail action and yes.....I took the helmet cam. The first couple of attempts did not go too well due to the camera not being at the right angle, it could best be described as a Geologist porn movie......a lot of dirt and some heavy breathing!
Last nights ride was a good one, my legs were heavy and tired but it felt good to be out. and after a quick spin along the river and the Plym trail I reached the trail head and start the climb up into Cann woods. Right now there is a fair bit of work going on up there cutting down many of the areas and re planting due to a fungal disease that has affected much of the woods in the area and some of the trails up there are pretty chewed up or gone completely but some of my old favorites are still there.
Hope you liked the video, it is my first production so to speak and thrown together using I movie 11 on my Imac, the long fire road sections were speed as to move to the wahoo sections as fast as possible. My brother said "made me want to get out there and then and ride" after seeing it so I think that is a good result and what I wanted to achieve.
Well that's all for now really training when I train is going well and my legs are feeling pretty good in fact I am seriously enjoying riding up hills, just a shame my weight is not dropping as that is really holding me back right now but give it time I suppose.
Take care all
Simon.

Its fun to see someone else's ride in such a personal manner. Although jerky, keep those side pan shots short. I had the adventure one time of having a few Fighter Jets flying low along the road I was biking on. I did my Tom Cruise on the motorcycle impression (Top Gun). As I was giving the jets the 'fistin the air' salute I noticed the road was rising... I had riden off into a ditch, luckily I kept wits about me, but the lesson is 'eyes fwd'
