A Good Week and a Rest Day

You know I think I am getting thinner already, my work shirts seem to be fitting better and there is a certain spring in my step now, no it is not love although all this healthy living and exercise is giving me the kind of libido that would not appear out of place in a 1970's adult alternative err movie but moving swiftly on and a cold shower.
This week has been a pretty darn fine week indeed absolutely loaded with non scale victories and something that was very sweet and I thank you so much Cheryl for the card, it is sitting up on my desk, on Monday I started to log my calories over on My Fitness Pal and so far I have managed to keep under the daily limit each day, only just mind you and it has not been easy mostly because of the snacking I am having to do to keep ticking over and avoid crashes, my 04:30 to 21:30 day is a long one.
It is going to take time and I am getting there with the diet side and the snacks that I am eating now are being replaced with healthier options.

Well this is my rest day although it was pretty tough to stay away from the bike, so far I have completed two sessions and yesterdays was a belting ride shaving 2mins off my best time for the circuit I did so progress is being made and yeah my body is adapting to the new intensity pretty well, last week and early this week I was feeling pretty sore all over my body but mostly in my trunk around the rib area probably from working harder and opening up the lungs, oddly my legs are holding up the best and i am having very few issues with them at all, my IT bands are pretty tight but that is a problem that has plagued me for many years and saw me having to undergo 6 months of physio to correct a severe imbalance that still rears it's ugly head, but with stretching and now Big Blue my fantastic blue foam roller of PAIN! I keep them in check. I think that i will stick to my current intensity and duration for another week and then extend my routes further out again upping both the distance and duration.

Today saw the arrival in my local bike shop of my new jacket, as I wrote in my blog a month or so ago I have been having problems finding a jacket that would fit my sexy but round figure, my last trip to the shop to pick up some new bottles saw me checking out Altura's Night Vision jacket, the XL was not big enough so they kindly ordered me the XXL to try and if that failed they could also get hold of an XXXL, well the XXL fitted fine, a little snug for layering but if I keep the pace up that I am setting now then it should be an ample fit in a month or so.

As you can see from the photo's it will be a godsend out on the road and the front is probably more reflective, so thank you Altura for recognizing that big guys n gals can be fit and active too, oh I nearly got the fluro yellow version....but I was worried about being mistaken for a UFO :)

Well wrapping up I can honestly say that this week has been a good week I feel DAMN awesome, I am slowly reaching the conclusion than any romantic interest is becoming impossible or there is no interest in me but that is okay, I have my friends and I have me and I AM enough, things are starting to go my way at last and I can honestly say that I am well and truly on the path to my happiness, the next 5-6 years are going to be make or break for me, either I have settled down with some one or I am going to move to Scotland and ride.

Life is good hope yours is too.

Simon.

Oh and I won £10 on the lottery Wednesday :)
