November beginings

Well autumn is here well and truly and has been about for over a week but once again I have missed the best colour of the season thanks to flu, the damm virus i came down with has taken me out of action for over a week but finally I am back up to speed (more or less) and raring to go, at this time I have decided not to join the twitter group for the November challenge at this time but I am still keeping my goal of 125 miles as it is still more than possible I just have to concentrate on being consistent mileage and time are nothing if you are not consistent I would rather have four great solid weeks than one incredible one.

This month I am working on a few things.
  1. Routine I must get into a good routine and maintain it the body needs routine and works best when it has one.
  2. Stretching I must stretch more, my legs have some very nasty imbalances in them right now my right knee for one is a mess and not pulling it's weight when riding but I am hoping that by working on my walking style I can over write the problem and re program the muscles to move and work in unison, also the stretching will help my legs recover and will improve my body's ability to function as a whole.
  3. Focus this is a key area for me for with out my routine I struggle to maintain focus and I can loose momentum and often I can let emotional and mental demons rear their head, this time of year is a tough one for me as I do miss being in a relationship most and it is so easy for me to slip into a negative frame of mind and completely undo all my good work sadly I don't have a really close friend anymore either, anyway another side to my focus is not to go the other way and go all gung ho and burn all my energy out inside of a month as has happened before when I have tried to turn my life around.
  4. Post ride maintenance.... I am terrible for it, I just seem to forget to look after myself in this key time, I don't drink or stretch or replace calories
Once again it is a case of I know what to do.....just got to do it.

Well as I said I have missed much of the autumn colour due to illness but I have not missed it all, yesterday I managed to get out and about for a few hours with the camera and pick up a couple of photo's they required a bit of hiking to get too and despite the heavy weight of my camera bag the easy walk seemed pretty easy so fingers crossed I have not lost too much fitness.

Sadly light is pretty limited now but I am going to try and get out after work when I can and the weekend too to try and get some more over the rest of this autumn and the winter season and defiantly make some time to get down to the beach with the camera.

One upside to my flu is that I have managed to get some good sewing time and made some progress on my project in between coughing fits and having an insane amount of green goo dripping form my nose (ewwwww lol)

Really enjoying this and I am hoping I should have it finished for some one's birthday.

One thing I have been neglecting is my poor bike yeah it is being ridden but it is in dire need of a service and most importantly some full length mud guards, if I could spare the budget I would like to replace the frame with something that will easily take the mudguards, I think I am going to have to pop down to my local bike shop and see what they have to offer as mudguards will make it so much easier to ride this winter and reduce damage to the bike too.

Well for now I am signing off, more stretching and water to consume as there is still some of this flu bug to flush out of my body.
